Mayan Jungle Adventure Tour

The transport will pick you up at your hotel and bring you to the jungle of Tankah (10 minutes outside of Tulum) It is a self-sustained community of over 42 Mayan families who live and work on the land.

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy 3 zip lines running across a freshwater lagoon, canoeing, cenote cliff jumping, and finishing the tour with a delicious and typical Mayan lunch.

The tour begins with the zip lining course flying through the jungle canopy and over the beautiful freshwater lagoon below.

The final leg of the zip line brings guests to the canoes on the bank of the lagoon. After canoeing through the channels, guests will jump into Tankah’s cenote swimming hole to freshen up.

The tour will end with a homemade Mayan feast made with hand-pounded corn tortillas and traditional dishes like chicken pibil in clay pots.

Following lunch, guests can relax in the hammock lounge before heading home.

Cenotes adventure tour:

There are different types of cenotes: open-cenotes, and cave-cenotes. This tour is an opportunity to see 3 cenotes in one excursion.

 

 Casa Cenote can best be described as the ultimate jungle swim known for its soft sand bottom, lush mangroves and rich marine life.

 

  • Sac Actun: The caverns and incredible rock formations could easily be seen in an “Indiana Jones” movie. Snorkelers and free divers will be blown away by the natural beauty of this Mayan paradise.

 

  • Tak Be Ha: Cenote Taak Be Ha is one of the cave ones, with a small entrance leading to a huge room, large dome with a lot of beautiful formations of stalactites and stalagmites.

Cobá & Punta Laguna, hike, zip line & monkey reserve :

Explore the Coba Ruins with a local Mayan guide explaining the history of the area. After discovering the Mayan site, you will get on mountain bikes or rickshaws to ride direction Nohoch-Mul pyramid. For the most adventurous, 120 steep steps climbing will bring you to the stunning jungle views from the top of the pyramid. The last stop of the tour will be the Cenote Tamcach-Ha where you can jump into the cave from 30ft (9m) or 15 ft (5m). For those who just want to relax, the platform at the water level is a great option too. After the cenote swim, we will explore Punta Laguna, only 20 minutes away from the ruins of Cobá. This tour is recommended for nature lovers who want to enjoy the local ecosystems and Mayan culture with complete respect and harmony. Start with a Mayan purification ceremony before entering the jungle, then hike an approximate 30 minute where you may observe different types of orchids, a great variety of birds, and a good quantity of spider and howler monkeys! Along the walk, we’ll discover a refreshing underground water cave and descend slowly with a pulley system for a thrilling and mystical experience. A little further, get to the biggest lagoon of the Yucatan and cross it while paddling a canoe. Finally, our tour ends with a 240-meter-long zip-line ride over the lagoon!

Muyil ruins , boat and the floating river tour:

This excursion in the Sian Ka’an Biosphere starts with an interpretative walk into the forest where you can catch sight of the local wildlife (spider-monkeys, coatis, foxes, different bird species, and more). On the way, you will stop by an observatory tower which overviewing a 360° canopy of the giant reserve. Our guide, a certified naturalist, will lead you throughout the luscious nature to encounter some important archeological monuments of the ancient Mayan city. The journey continues with the crossing of Muyil and Chunyaxche lagoons as well as the channels that link these to the Caribbean sea a few kilometers away. End the tour with a relaxing float down the mild currents of this mythical channel once frequented by the ancient Mayas.

ATV & CENOTE TOUR

You’ll start driving on a first path in the jungle, by riding your ATV following your guide, stepping on roots and stones, going up and down, surrounded by high palm trees, where you’ll be blessed with a Mayan ceremony by a true shaman. With such purification, you’ll be ready to submerge and refresh yourself in the cenote’s sacred water. You’ll be offered a tasty snack, in the shadow of a Mayan hut in the middle of the jungle and then, back in the saddle! 

 

A second path riding your ATV into the tropical forest will take you to the entrance of a second cenote: here as well you’ll be swimming in its fresh and pristine water.
